ORTHOCLASE is part of the Feltspar group and is closely related to MOONSTONE and ADULARIA. Feltspar is a family of silicates that make up almost 60% of the earths’ crust.
ORTHOCLASE commonly occurs as well formed monoclinic crystals in pegmatites, where it is associated with quartz, mica and other feldspars such as microcline and albite. It occurs in many parts of South Africa, Namibia Botswana and Zimbabwe.
Known by ancient wise men as the "stone of co-operation". It was used by them at meetings and debates to encourage speedy and amicable solutions. Still used by healers for soothing and promoting self and emotional well being it can also be used to combat cycles and repeated patterns. ORTHOCLASE is most effective when worked with the Sacral Chakra.
