MALACHITE

The  beautiful  dark  green  colours  of  MALACHITE  make  it  a  popular  mineral    with both collectors and  healers.   Used   by  the ancient  wisemen,    light workers  and  healers throughout  the past  thousand  years,   MALACHITE  is known for it's healing and transformining  properties.    It is believed  to  reveal  subconscious  blocks,   bring  prosperity,   happiness  and  health  and  is  especially  supportive  and  soothing  when  working   in  conjunction  with the Heart Chakra.

MALACHITE  is a Carbonate, and has the chemisty Copper Carbonate Hydroxide.  It is a significant Copper ore and often displays fabulous, exotic  bands  of  lights  and  dark  greens,   which  form  unique  patterns  and  designs  when  polished.    The banding  occurs  due  to subtle  changes  in the  oxidation  states  of  the  surrounding  pore  waters.   MALACHITE  is  a  very  common  oxidation  mineral  of the  copper  sulphides  at  Musina,  but  is  also  found  in  many  other  areas  of  South  Africa,   Namibia,   Z imbabwe,    Botswana  and Swaziland.   MALACHITE  often  combines  with  other   minerals  including  AZURITE  and  CHRYSOCOLLA,  producing  some  spectacular  specimens.
