PICTURE  STONE  is  formed  by  mud,  rich  with  silicate (QUARTZ) that  has  oozed and  dripped  into  pockets  of  gas  bubbles, formed by molten lava. This  would  have  cooled  quickly  causing  it  to  turn  solid,  basically  becoming  "petrified mud”. 

 Each  of  these  stones  are  completely  different  and  all  have beautiful  landscape  pictures  of  mountains,  hills,  sand dunes, desert  scenes . The dark colors are  MANGANESE  DENDRITES which  often look  like  plants  and  trees  in  the  landscapes.

PICTURE  STONE  is  relatively  rare  worldwide  and  in  Africa  it is  only found  in  the  most  southern  area  of  Namibia.

We  have  some  beautiful  polished  PICTURE  STONE  specimens  in  our  warehouse. Available  in  various  forms  such  as  slices,  eggs,  spheres,  orbs,   tumbled,  etc.

PICTURE  STONE  is  a  stone  of  global  awareness, it  stimulates  and  creates  a  spiritual  affinity  between  humanity  and nature, (keep pieces in, or next to, your potted plants, or in your garden). A  very  grounding  tool and  can  be  used  as    protection  from  negativity  and  to  promote  peace  and  harmony  in  your  environment.
