HAUSMANNITE  is  one  of  the  ore  minerals  exploited  for manganese and  is  not  commonly  found  in  well-formed  crystals.   The crystals form in  a  variety of  different habits, but the pagoda-like form of the specimen crystals taken from the Kalahari manganese mines in South Africa are among the finest and most sort after in the world.                                                                  

Generally black to silver black in colour,  HAUSMANNITE  is  often associated with  MANGANVESUVIANITE.

This mineral works well when used as a protection, especially from empathic symptoms and other peoople's energy.  Excellent stone for healers and those in the caring profession to keep close when working with clients.  Also good  for healing bones, backache and blood vessels.

We have many specimens of HAUSMANNITE  in our   warehouse,  from  thumbnail  size to fairly large pieces.  Some of the  specimens  have   white CALCITE and sprinkles of  andredite  garnet easily  visable.    There are MANGAVESUVIANITE  crystals growing side by side to HAUSMANNITE  crystals.
