DIOPTASE is considered by many crystal healers to be a relatively young stone which  is evolving into emerald-type  frequencies. Because of its blue/green color tones it can be used in conjunction with the Heart Chakra, Higher Heart Chakra (between the heart and throat) and the Throat Chakra. It is used for spiritual love and spiritual healing and is also a crystal related to abundance and creativity. It is recommended for healers who take on their client’s issues, or do not focus enough on their own healing.

DIOPTASE is one of the few silicates to crystallize in the same symmetry class as dolomite, with crystals that are rhombohedral in shape. The crystals are transparent and translucent, often quite clear and the prism faces very reflective, due to a fairly high luster.

DIOPTASE specimens from Tsumeb in Namibia are considered the worlds finest. This attractive crystal is found most frequently with older dolomite and younger calcite crystals. Unfortunately it is rather soft and therefore not often cut and used as a gemstone for jewelry. DIOPTASE is a very beautiful mineral and is one of the few crystals that can challenge the peerless of an emerald's deep green.
